Accessibility

Why is accessible theatre important?

Many of Frozen Light’s audiences are first time theatre goers. Accessible, sensory theatre means that an otherwise excluded audience can access theatre and their local theatre venue.

What makes a venue accessible?

Facilities, information, and communication all contribute to making a venue fully accessible. Our audience members have shared what accessibility means to them.

Changing Places

Standard accessible toilets meet the needs of some disabled people – but not all. Changing Places toilets are larger facilities that have the right equipment, including a changing bench and a hoist, designed to support disabled people who need assistance.

Audience Journey

For someone with PMLD going to the theatre isn’t as simple as just buying a ticket. This video gives you an insight into what someone has to consider when planning a trip to see a show.
