Sensory Studio

The Sensory Studio is our beautiful sensory collaboration space where Frozen Light work alongside artists with profound and multiple learning disabilities to make theatre that has inclusivity at its heart.

Based in Norwich, The Sensory Studio is a Paul Hamlyn Funded project which allows us to explore what inclusive collaboration can look like.

Through monthly sensory sessions we explore themes around co-creating props, use of narrative in sensory theatre, musical experimentation, being with and much more. All the learning feeds directly into the theatre shows of Frozen Light.

We have welcomed guest facilitators into the studio to support our learning, including, Joanna Grace, Eleanor Gibson and Jill Goodwin, alongside guest musicians and directors.

It is fast becoming a training ground for people interested in sensory theatre who work closely alongside the sensory studio artists to learn from them.
